FX5 OR SUMP?

I use both in my 450. The sump is nice for heater placment and adding volume like above. Also it was easy to set up a drip system in my sump to eliminate waterchanges. I also use canister filters to add circulation to the lower areas of the tank.

X2 I use both, it's a great redundancy

My 450g runs two FX5s along with a sump.

I have 2 FX5s on my 260. They are great filters, but when I had my tank decently stocked, the two filters were not sufficient. My gut was to do a sump, but I was intimidated. My 260 is lightly stocked now and the two filters are sufficient but I imagine a sump would be easier to clean and maintain. Definitely put a sump on your 450.
