FX5 Question

Would y'all recommend a Fluval FX5 for my 80 gallon tank. Or, am I over doing it??

yeah i think it would be over doing it a bit. an ac110 would be good or an eheim classic canister would be just right.... it all depends. whats going to be out in the tank?

Currently i have an Oscar, Tinfoil, Firemouth, pictus, and pleco. i have a AC110 And an Emperor 400. i am looking for an upgrade...

Is there a chance you'll get a bigger tank down the road? If so the FX% may be a good idea. As stated before an AC110 will effectively filter a moderately stocked 75g tank.

bderick is right. a bigger tank will be need once those fish get bigger then the fx5 will come into play... what makes you want to upgrade?

a tank upgrade bc i want a Umbee or a Jag in the future.

if your planning on upgrading, then go for it.

otherwise, it doesn't really make sense to spend that much money on filtration for a tank that size when other more cost effective methods will work just as well. remember, your still going to have to do weekly water changes no matter what filter you have on there..

ya i know that. what other filter are the most cost effective??? other than the AC 110...
