FX5 Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I like the Marineland C-360 for filtration on smaller tanks. I run them on both of my 75's, and it's one of the filters I run on my 180. I like it because it requires very little maintenance. The FX5 can clog up weekly, and the Marineland only requires maintenance once per month, if that. It's a 360 gallon per hour filter for about a hundred and fifty bucks, and after running all three for almost two years, I've never had a problem with them. Hope this helps.

I think right now the best value in cannister filters in Eheims classic line (2215 or 2217) considering their price and the fact they come packed with media.

i just bought a fx5...i thought they were the best on the market...i paid $235 with free shipping, free 3pk carbon, and free 3pk water polisher pads...i would add it to my emperor 400 and a homeade filter that is at 375gph...should i have got a diff filter? it will go on a 6'x2'x2' tank to give me about 1400gph...there is a aro, a gar, a jd, 7 tinfoils, a large pleco, 3 tsns (small)

go for it... i have two FX5's on my 150G...
previously i had one FX5 and a tetratec EX1200 (similar sized filter) on my 55G

so yeah id say you wont be overfiltering atall but will have a nice clean easy tank to keep
