FX5 too much for a 120 gallon?

Don't want to hijack this thread but, would 2 fluval 404's be good for a 120? The guy I bought the tank from threw them in for free....

Then why do it? It is as easy to make a thread as it is to post a reply, well unless you consider creating a title hard.

Well, I figured who the heck cares since it is somewhat relevant to the OP's question (same tank size) but apparently you do. Thanks for your value-added reply.
 
For canister filters, isnt a 6-8 turnover rate what you want to aim for? I thought for majority of fish that current would stress them? Im thinking of getting an fx-5 considering how happy everyone is with it.
 
Well, went ahead and set it up last night.

The current seems just about right for the tank.

you can never have too much filtration, it's unfortunate that most tanks I have seen have too little
