Just picked up an FX5 used, so I dont have a manual or a video but it was such a steal at 80 bucks. it seems fine just missing a few clips and suction cups. other than that it works and runs quietly.

my question is, does anyone have a video of how the flow is supposed to look like?

from what i see it seems as if its flowing a little to slow from what i hear its supposed to.

my media consists of the foam blocks that came with it and 12 scrubbies in the bottom and middle tray and 6 scrubbies in the first tray. that shouldnt restrict flow too much.

anyone have a video of theirs?

THanks!!!!

trust me ur media slows it alot i run scourers aka scrubies all trhrough out and it runs at 600lph at the most als odepends how much head it neads to achieve. rmember its not the flow of the water that coems out its the clarity ofthe water!!! ( this is assuming that ur using ur fx5 strictly fer mechanical filtration

i was just thinking that with that much power the water would come out a little more harder than it does now.

that is why i was asking for members on here to post up a video of their fx5 in action so i can see if my fx5 is comparable to others in flow out of the two outputs.

thanks for your input.

quick test, run the filter into a 5gal bucket, time it, do the math = GPH.

it's rated at 925GPH (i think) so
925/5 = 185buckets an hour
3600 / 185 = 19.5 seconds per bucket

should take about 20seconds to fill a 5gal bucket.

i have 12 scrubbers/basket in mine and the flow doesnt seem to have changed since before i had it. water stays clear.

it is suppost to run at 925gph empty and around 625gph w/ media...

because the diameter of the hose is big it is able to move a higher flow rate at a lower pressure. so because it isnt blasting water out of your tank doesnt mean that it isnt pumping as fast as it says...

we spoke about this in another forum, the pads kill the gph. try to use the lightest possible media in the first basket on top or your gph will be out to lunch. if you want to trully test the filter out, run it without any baskets or media and it should be crankin. the "polishing pads" go dirty in less than a week in basket one f.y.i
