FX5: Will this work? [good]

You don't need any polishing pads....the FX5 is HEAVY you really don't want to have to be cleaning it out every other week.....trust me. as larger particles become trapped in the mechanical foam the holes become that much smaller and the foam that much more effeciant. over time the filter will easilly trap anything you can see and a lot of stuff that you can't.

I fill the center compartments with biomedia as I have found placing any type of sponge/pad in the center causes the filter to clog up very fast. I am not into weekly filter maint.

take out the pads from the 2nd tier and 3rd. load up with bio max or equivalent. i use this with oscars and get pristine results. those pads clog up imo and you end up doing more extra work then you need to.
