Go for it, you can overfilter a tank, but it applies more to putting 1000lph on Sub-29gal tanks 
, over-filtration in a big tanks mean less floating debris, cleaner water, and more fun for the fish (yet to find a 'typical' Cichlid that doesn't enjoy nice flow!), not to mention how much it helps aeration.
However, two FX5's? How about you mail one of them up to me and I'll follow you around MFK praising everything you do? Sounds like a fair deal to me!
