Alright thanks guys... i dont have the time for changing it once a week(personal reasons/sports..3 soccer teams if that gives you an idea) so im thinking just a turf scrubber rated for 150g(i think) and the magnum 350. and ill try to talk mom into a skimmer or if i cant then ill save up for one. Would that work because the scrubber would get the nitrates and nitrites also i think. But the scrubber and skimmer would be about $800 alone... :/

You can build your own scrubber pretty easily and cheaply. There are lots of DIY plans online.

Scrubber I could make for you for...very little. PM me if you want me to build you a custom scrubber and send it to you.

I think ill get one locally because they have nice ones that dont look dyi which its gonna be in the living room for a display tank(first thing they see when they walk in) so i think ill get a HOB one that has a black finish to it. and i got media for my canister that gets phosphates, nitrates, and nitrites out of the water so should i use those or just have the scrubber get those out?

You cant rely on chemical media to do water changes for you.

You really shouldnt rely on a scrubber to do water changes for you.

The media that you are looking for however is called purigen. Do a little research on it. I would buy three of the 100ml bags and just use one at a time and then recharge two at a time when you get down to using the last bag.
