No, DVDs need improvement. You can't put a true HD movie on a regular (or even dual layer) DVD. We're going to need a format with higher capacity to be able to watch 1080 line HD movies.

It seems I only want to buy game consoles every few years or decade. I wanted the 8-bit NES, and I wanted the PS2. The ps3 and xbox360 are both awesome, but too soon, and you wont see me shelling out 600 bucks for one (probally more with games, controllers, etc). Ill buy the ps4.

I don't think I will buy a PS3 unless it drops down at least a couple hundred bucks. I usally wait at least a year before buying these new console, the bottom line right now is this, is any game out right now worth paying $600 + too play? HELL NO!!!!Yeah what's the rush anyways? If people only had a little patience an wait like 6mo to a year to buy the console. Let them work out the bugs. Plus people should get all the use out of their old videogame consoles. I just got my Xbox modded 6mos and can't get enough of it. I am planning to mod my PS2 next then buy a modded XBOX 360 within the next couple of months. I would probably buy the Wii just for the new Zelda game coming out. You know that price tag on the new PS3 is mostly the cost of the new Blu Ray technology anyways. We will see in 6 mo how everything plays out. Will be interesting to see!
didnt realise they had so many funboys on here... Its always funny to hear people say price drop when NO system has done a quick price drop.
1 thing is def, people must be brain washed to wait in such bad weather or spend so much on an auction site just to have THE new toy. Whats hilarious though is the dumb parents who got the 360 last yr and the ps3 this yr are puting them on an old tv that you cant really read anything on cause the games are made for hd sets.
As for the orignal topic, thats BS. Out of the supposed 8,000 to have trouble, most are ps1 titles which Im sure noone is worried about anyway.

Every system has price drops, No one said anything about it happening any time soon. I will just wait and see how everything goes before I decide what to do. I think the PS2 has at least one more solid year left in it (2007) so I'll just keep playing that and my DS until the dust settles. The WII should be fairly easy to get but I will still wait on that one even though it is at a lower affordable price. I say that unless you are a video game collector, now is the time to start selling off all of the old games/systems you aren't playing anymore before the value drops too low. SO who are the fanboys here that you are talking about ? We are just giving honest opinions , not trying to bash Sony since I have been on the PS1 and PS2 wagon for all these years. I always go for the system that appeals to me the most after it's been releashed. I will let the games do the talking ,I am open to any system that is fun . I want to know if anyone on MFK gets one to keep so they can give us a fish keepers perspective on it! I am sure NEO will have about 20 and at least 4-5 WII'S 
Keeping with the original topic, I don't mind if the PSone games do not all work, There is only a small handfull of those I still play and I am sure they may come up with a fix or a way to download "virtual" games.Now if PS2 games aren't working, that will be a slightly different story !!

I like it so far. no probs on ea, sony, rockstar, square, sega, namco. Dont look any better or load that much faster but the online worked with no probs. There's 1 update on the new games and an online update once you sign up I think, havent signed up yet.
Fall of man is nice. Decent solo but online will be key for most.
Motorstorm is decent. Gets old quick.
Everything else are redo's with a control enhancement. Madden has the supposed gang tackling. Nice but still missing some of the fun extra features of ps2/xbox.
TN looks nice on BluRay as dose MI3.
