I understand thiamanase and fatty liver disease, but I think the severity is way over exaggerated. If some fish can grow up to full size and live 6+ years on a diet of goldfish and rosys I don't think as a snack it will kill your fish.
 
Most fish should live into their teens, so 6 years isn't really saying a lot.

I am not saying a diet on purely goldfish is healthy, but as a snack I do not see how feeder fish as an occasional snack will shorten the fish's life. It's just like eating a fatty snack without many nutrients.

When people eat chocolate bars as an occasional snack it does not cut their lives short. It's just not something you should rely on nutrients and health from.

Also, fish eat cyprinids in the wild too from time to time.
 
LOL, actually, I gave up sugar 2 years ago. ;)

Feeding a FW food to a SW fish is a bad idea all around. But if the GS has been QTed properly & the fish isn't eating at all, it's something... really should have better options though.
 
Thats awesome. When im older and have the space and the money for a saltwater setup, im definitely going to go crazy lol
