useally but not allway a red stripe under the eye indicates gachua from india, it looks like yours does have the red eye stripe. if they are indeed calcutta or as we are not certain then the best temps for them would be lower tropical temps , gachua are very versitile and will tolerate a very wide range but if you go for lower tropical temp range then it should be happy regardless of location.
the stripes on thre body will actually fade away as they settle in , and when feeling very secure will not be seen at all , when starting to get stressed the will come out.
i have found the calcutta variety to grow fairly large i have one around 13" or 33cm ( est. through glass ) which is a very good size for gachua
