As some one else has said, luckily they are now beginning to be bred in captivity. They are great little fish but it would be best to hold off on buying them unless you can find a captive bred source.

The situ is no where near as bad as previously thought. Easily captive bred and a wider natural distribution that first thought. It was the degradation of the first capture known point that was worrying.

Please don't call it a rasbora...

It was initially classed as a rasbora but is now more properly called Celestial Pearl danios.
The change is recent.
It is good to hear that the fish has a wider natural distribution than was first known. Hopefully the price will come down now.
