Game: Guess the fish!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
:WTF: They go $150 here. And thats the price from another MFK member.
No idea how much will LFS extort from us with those fishes. Ship me one!

PS: With LFS like yours, you should get into the addiction ACWO :)

Oh, I will some day soon enough I'm sure. I'm not going to be setting much new stuff up until I move into a bigger place. I've always really liked bichirs and other African oddballs. If I got in to them, it would be with the goal of breeding whatever species I chose though. I like setting up biotope-ish tanks and focusing on one or two particular species from the region. I'm not in to keeping random big fish from different parts of the world in a show tank with no breeding goals--definitely no 300 gallon aro, dat, catfish, bichir tank in my future. :)

Here's our local stock right now:
Armored Bichir, Polypterus delhezi, 5", $45.00,
Gold Dust Bichir, Polypterus buettikoferi, 6", $40.00,
Ornate Bichir, Polypterus ornatipinnis, 5", $40.00,
Red Bichir, Polypterus endlicheri endlicheri "Volta", 6", $60.00,
Reticulated Bichir, Polypterus mokelembembe, 4", $85.00,
Senegal Bichir, Polypterus senegalus, 4", $8.00,
Speckled Bichir, Polypterus polli, 5-6", $30.00,

I think shipping cost to Singapore would pretty much negate the money savings you would get buying locally unless you ordered a lot.

One of my favorites:
Confused.... is that a betta??? I got no idea. Looks like a betta and some people say it is but i am confused.

There are many species of betta. The common betta you see are male Betta splendens--they are line bred for lots of different colors and shapes but they are still slendens (or maybe hybrids). There's a whole bunch of other species is the Betta genus that you rarely see.

Should clarify, I was saying "wow" because that is a really hard one. I doubt many MFKers are good with rare bettas. Nice fish too.
