The midas was protecting eggs and from what I remember the midas pair was moved to another tank and were doing fine.
 
Cause there are ways to avoid or stop cichlids from fighting-yeah they fight but it seems this guy set the fight up and glorified it by putting it on you tube! My fish at times fight and i hate it-but i do things like scare them, feed them, distract them! I dont mind the flare ups or mild lip locking but when it gets to the point where they have been going at it for more than 3-4 min the owner needs to intervene and do something.
 
What a total retard!

The poor Midas was getting its face totally torn into by the Dovii's teeth.

The fact he sat there and recorded it and did nothing to stop the brutality really gives a bad name to those of us who are in the hobby raising our own monsters. Its hard enough to explain to my friends what I'm raising, why he's the only one in the tank, how big he gets, etc. Now I have to deal with weirdos like this who post these death matches for every one to see. And then try to explain that is NOT what I am in the hobby for.

Sorry for the rant. This guy just makes me mad!
