  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow that poor bichir........ hope he heals alright for you..

P.S IMO, instead of chopping the pleco's in half and feeding them to your E-eel I would have brought them back to the lfs.

OMFG why take them back to a LFS or donate them when there fate might be worse.. eg crammed in a small tank!
feeding them was better

If I brought them back to LFS, my LFS won't give me credit and they don't usually accept big fish that they can sell for $3. Not only that I'll be wasting free food for my electric eel. You need to understand that when you keep monster fish especially with large appetite such the electric eel, then you'll have to take advantage of every free meal. Save you money as well. I've seen so many large common plecos and sialfin plecos that are being rejected. Some ended up in LFS and they also get killed for feeding food for other fish.

I totally agree If I was in the same situation I would have done the same thing , did you let your friend know that he about killed your fish by dumping the plecos with your fish ?

Yep I let him know that he won't do it again. He didn't know about bichirs so he thought he'd give those plecos. Well I was piss of a little but he always give me free baby cichlids as feeder so I just let it go. I don't wanna get mad at him as he might stop giving free feeders for me.

totally bro
why let a fish suffer..
imo a quick death is better than prolonged pain..

Yep. Some people are just way to soft that why rivers and lakes and other bodies of water where they could potentially survive are being invaded.

"LFS and irresponsible monster fish keepers who are lacking in knowlege of the fish they are getting, kills more fish than than responsible monster fish keeper. "

You make a very good point. It's not cool to moralize about things without being fully informed. Personally, being in FL where non-natives are pretty much everywhere, I can easily see killing a great number of fish that others keep in their tanks as pets. Responsible thing to do, sometimes, is to kill them.
