would it be safe if i put a gar with my reds they have them at the pet store in the same tank? help

RBP's can't really have other tankmates. Other people will tell yuo differently, but 9/10 keepers will tell you they've had no luck. If you want to keep fish with other fish you should pick a different fish. Piranhas don't play well with others.

It can happen both:

If the Gar were too big and the reds small, the gar would eat them all.

If the Gar didn't have the size to eat the reds, there would be the reds the ones who would end up eating the gar.

Therefore, the answer si DO NOOOOOOOT!!!!!

i did that to try it out when i had reds and they nipped the crap out of his tail so i took him out right away but u can try if you want

Gars are known in the wild as piranha eaters. So it depends on the size of the gar and size of the tank. If it was like a 700gal+ tank then they would probably be just fine, at least for awhile.

well the fish store has them in the same tank and they do fine

It is a time bomb, the moment less expected and you'll have a carnage but if you don't believe us go ahead and see what happens.
