gar, bichirs, silver and pearl aros together?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what size? I'd be surprised if anyone had a jardini 12 inches or more that didn't hammer it's tankmates, unless the tankmates were much bigger or it was in a pond.

i was thinking, could diet break its agressiveness? cos my mom on religious considerations forbidded live feeding, so i been feedimng them dried shrimps. a 12 inch aro i got could swallow the 6 inches anytime but they get along ok. my jar refused the dried shrimps for weeks then now its eating it too..so i was thinkig whether it wld be ok when it got big if i just feed it dead food...a bit naive perhaps but worth a try?

not really. In England we don't have feeder fish, so my jardini always ate frozen stuff or mealworms. Even when I put live fish in for the others, he would not eat it.

Nevertheless, he was very aggressive and hammered other fish.

I am from singapore and i was looking at some prices that peope demand for silver aros and I got a shock
would you tell me why silver aros cost so much there? i can get a 5 inch one for 25 SGD
n y is there no feeder fish in England

seems like i might have to isolate my jar soon..

well a 5 inch silver here would set you back about 84 singapore dollars. Over 3 times the price. Why? Because everything is more expensive in England, people know they can get away with charging those prices.

It will be the same for almost every other fish.

you know in my experience its all about individual fish all my silvers get along and i have had a ton of them right now i have 23 of them but they also have plenty of space to keep away from each other dont overcrowd and your silvers should do fine unless somone turns psycho on ya

silver aros and jardini are totally different tempermant. Even when small I noticed some jardini show aggression to other arowanas.

hey guys, been a long time. I just started a new tank w/ 3 shovel cats,1 silver aro and 1spotted gar. what else would be cool in there. looking for ideas. the tank is 210gal.
