I feed the Gars here many different things on a rotating and as available basis however the general and staple feeds are as follows.

Hakari cichlid gold
Tetra Jumbomin
Aqua stable MO pellets
Fish analogue gel diet
Tilapia fillet
Catfish chunks
Whole smelt (Thawed frozen)
Whole sunfish (Thawed frozen)
Whole Trout smolts (Thawed frozen)
Crickets (Live and frozen)
Migratory grasshoppers (Live and frozen Thawed Seasonally)
fathead minnows (Live and frozen Thawed)
Emerald shiners (Live and frozen Thawed)
Common shiners (Live and frozen Thawed )
Gizzard shad (Live and frozen Thawed)
Crayfish (Live and frozen Thawed)
Grass shrimp (Live and frozen Thawed)
pinky mice (Thawed frozen) Occasional

Quite a few other items depending on size of the fish.

they will keep growning.... Oscars however, grow unlimited in the body, but the head will grow to the tank size... this will cause the body to grow around the head, rather than with it and eventually deform them to the point of death.
