im not sure whats going on. i put the old filtration in again and now he seems to be fine so i guess that wasnt it. the last thing i can think of that may have caused it could be one of the feeders he ate had ick. could the parasite have been internal??? either way he seems fine now but if anyone knows about parasites im curious if they can get them internally.

Yes you can get parisites internally, but I dont believe that it would cause such behaviour. Im still going with an environmental factor.

I have been told to keep my Gars temp up a little high 80-82 degrees,is this wrong??I have a tiny gater gar.
As long as he's acting fine, then I think he will be fine. Most gar do good from mid 70's to mid 80's. I keep my temp anywhere from 78-82. My gar was just going through some kind of phase, but he's fine now at any temp. How big is your gator gar, and what do you have him in??
