Didn't see your post before my last one.

Gator gars average about four feet in captivity - with some getting even larger. A two hundred gallon would not be sufficient for a gator gar at all, not even for a year - but for a florida gar it should be fine for life.

The difference between it being, say, a florida gar and an alligator gar is a pretty big deal. Also the possibility of it being a pike characin versus a florida gar can be important.
