All that. And he’ll probably start eating floating pellets, cut fish, shrimp, etc in no time. Hope you have a huge tank or pond for him! He will be 2-3ft in no time.
Right now he is in a 10 gallon quarantine with a red tailed catfish the same size. They will both move to my 90 gallon soon and to a pond eventually!

What should I feed him, I have live ghost shrimp, live guppies and frozen bloodworms.
guppies/rosies are your best bet at that size, although you can experiment giving the ALG frozen krill too (some will transition directly to freeze dried krill as well). once you get the gar off live food, it will eat virtually anything from sinking to floating pellets (and any frozen foods too). ALG's are basically garbage disposals compared to more finicky gar species (e.g. Longnose Gar). good luck!--

Just got this guy a few days ago, he hasnt eaten yet but i was wondering what kind of gar he is. He also seems to have bonked his mouth or nose , will he recover?
