Of your two choices the 125 would be a much better choice. Now as for keeping them in there for life, that would all depend on your gars (the individual) and how big they get because there's always going to be varibles that determine how big your fish are going to get. I would say you should be good for a few years at least.

! One for gars(shorties and floridas) and one for other fish
