:iagree: I've never really heard of that many 2ft florida gar and never seen one. It would still be good to keep them in a 180.

Really? Three of my friends have Florida gars ( 2 of them have 1 each and the other friend has 2) and the smallest is 16 Inches. The other three are all about 20-24".

hmm.. that makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong.. haha.. you sure they aren't gators?.. sure, with a 10x4x4 tank and unlimited supplies of healthy, gut loaded feeders but hell.. that's some nice growth in a year!

Bass pro shop Missouri, and Virgina both have captive raised FG over 2 feet. However that is with an unlimited budget, and a team of people paid to take care of them.

How do you know that those gar are YOY and not caught large?

Only 1 of them grew that fast. The others are about 2-2.5 years old. The one who did grow to 24" in a year lives in a 200 gallon by himself, and eats pellets, goldfish, minnows and guppies. And pretty much any fish that he doesn't like.
