xander - the Croc II is somewhere in between his black & white pattern and his dark pattern...hard to explain, but photos should show it. we have no idea what the pattern will end up being, but the current state has been there for a while now. sort of a striped pattern with black and dark green...
blixc - i only feed them every other day or sometimes a two day fast in between...they get quite a bit of food though. and with gars together in close quarters (i.e. any fish aquarium) they do tend to nip at each other every now and then, so frayed fins is not an uncommon occurrence. they heal up quickly and generally no serious damage is done.--

ok i just had a little time to snap some shots of the big tank after these guys were fed today. these individuals are harder to shoot because they are much bigger than the other gars in the other tank, and are always curious about the flash (so they move to the top a lot more). anyway, a couple pics as teasers, hopefully i will get time to take more next week--
