It is kinda funny isn't it. Why start a thread at all if you are going to rely on trial and error no matter what advice you get?

Haha yeah so true... it would eat the whole thing. I was thinking more of how our well fed (or so we thought) 24" gator gar bit our 12" channel cat clean in half...
They're monsters that's for sure :D

How????? Gator gars do not have teeth even designed to do that.. But whatever...

yeah, and bichir ganoid scales aren't coming apart any easier either...perhaps a bite and twist off of the head, but that's really about it given mechanical and morphological limitations--

Well, let's just say that monster fish keepers are crazy in the first place. Why the hell would a sane person spend so much effort and resources to keep monster fishes? But still... Lol...

1 gator may not take a chunk off but who knows. Gators are crazy. My 18" gator try his luck on my 18" tsn. Teeth marks across the back. Now during feeding time, all the fishes knows who's boss of the pond.

feeders and a catfish

Well actually I can come up with a hundred reasons that do not involve stupidity, Nor Have stupidity as a basis to keep these fish and some might even be endeavors worthwhile due to lack of knowledge in the species.. Crazy we are but in general most strive to avoid just doing stupid for the sake of it.

Well actually I'm likely wrong so take that all back.. Most are in fact just doing stupid for the sake of it and most are not really even doing anything in benefit for their fish...
