will take a few more guesses (perhaps some actual explanations too?) before closing off this one...next one is something particularly interesting :) --

I said Croc II because the tail pattern reminds me of a alligator gar but body pattern, and snout doesnt look alligator so i concluded Croc II.

just to follow that logic...why not Croc I or Croc III? although i think one of those two can be excluded somewhat easily if one knows the history of the Crocs--

I've seen more pictures of Croc II and this one looks 99% the same. :D Please don't tell me it's not Croc II. :(

Without knowing much about the hybrids except for the few pictures available to me, I really can't see any reason not to say Croc II. The picture of this specimen has a pretty much identical pattern to the one on Primitive Fishes, and it is noted there that this is the only specimen of the hybrid, making me believe I am looking at the same fish.

Not really the type of answer we look for here, but I figured I'd be honest in my reasoning. :)

I suppose Croc II gar refers to the hybrid between a florida gar and an alligator gar while Croc I refers to spotted x alligator gar?

Croc I is Shortnose/Gator.

Thanks bro. Croc I: shortnose x gator; Croc II: florida x gator; Croc III: longose x gator? So far, hasn't there been a known occurence where a spotted mated alligator gar?

You'd have to ask Solomon about that last bit, but you've got the 3 Croc species down now. :)
