i would go for alligator gar.
i think the snout is too short and broad for a croc

Colouring is uniform, which is more characteristic of the Atractosteus genus as they age.

That is quite characteristic of Longnosed and shorts too....

Very impressive specimen Solomon!

My guess is croc III

Reasons
-does not seem thick enough for a pure gator of that size
-snout seems particularly long for a gator of that size
-fins are pretty angled, position of fins are also reminence of osseus
-track record of the poster

The snout was the only thing that threw me off croc III, just doesn't seem long enough as what I would expect from a croc III, but then again even within a species there can already be so much variation in morphology between specimens from different localities. And Richard did mention that croc III was the new frontier...

If I'm right, that'll be an absolute insane find!

I'm going to go with long nosexalligator hybrid just by the build. Wish I could buy a gar like that...

That is quite characteristic of Longnosed and shorts too....

The only larger longnoses I have seen had very pronounced patterning even at their larger sizes. And since sol had mentioned previously that the atract genus dulls with age, I felt this along with other characteristics supported the hybrid guess.

It looks like a longnose gar that's gotten so big and fat the snout seems normal by comparison.

Whatever it is, put it in a box and ship it to me.
