I haven't posted pics or an update of my gars in a while. I've got:

2x Florida gars
1x True spotted gar
5x Shortnose gars

Except for the smallest shortnose and the spotted gar, everyone is between 14" and 18" now. The smallest shortnose and spotted gar are around 12".

They are all feeding mainly on Hikari floating pellets, with market shrimp, tilapia, silversides, and occasionally earthworms thrown in for variety. They haven't had live feeders in several months :).

They all seem to be doing well, despite still being in the 125g tank. The 220g is sitting in the back room waiting to be set up, I just haven't had the time to work on it. I've been working on my house and yard, trying to get all the projects done so we can put it up for sale. Maybe I'll get around to getting the tank running in the next couple of weeks, but don't hold your breath.

Anywho, here's some pics (since that's all you guys care about anyways ;))

Thank you. That's a Parachromis friedrichsthalli (sp?). It's a south american cichlid. He's fairly peaceful in this tank. Doesn't seem to bother anybody at all.

The dimension of my 220 are 72"Lx30"Wx24"H. Its like a normal 220 laid on its back, so its got a great footprint. That may or may not be the gars home for life. If I end up buying a certain house we're looking at, I may be doing a large basement build, which would end up being their permanent home (thinking along the lines of 12x6x4 or something like that).

That is one BIG crenicichla in there, by the way. Another one of my favorite family to keep.
