i have a florida with a bump on its left side. i have had him for about 2-3 months. he is still eating and swimming fine. does any1 know what it could be and if its curable? he has had it for over a month.
he has had it over a month. when i bought him, they told me he had jumped a week or two prior. would it be a battle wound from that or could it be something else. my water temp. is at 78-79. o ammonia 0 nitrite and 10 nitrate. he is with a ck and a silver aro and they were put in the tank the same time. also have 4 gouramis as a dither. 3 weeks ago i added a small midas but ive watched him and the midas is scared of all the big fishes and only chases the gouramis...if that. i have 2 AC500 and 2 medium sponge filters. tanks been up for 2-3 months. its a 112 gallons, but next summer ill be upgrading to a 200+ gallons.
by "jumped" you mean jumped out of the tank? Did he have any open wounds? The reason why i ask is because it could viral which most of the time will run its course. most tumors in fish are benign so that is a little good news
the guy at the store told me jumped out and no wounds. i hope its benign. he still eats and swims fine. although he is liking more and more to stay underneath the ac500. do gars like water movement?
Mine loves to hang out under my spray bar and ride the current for time to time. bump up you heat a little just to be safe not to aquire any more problems. As long as the tumor is not affecting his ablity to eat he should be okay. also try to get that bigger tank as soon as possible.
