Gar with large cichlids

I had to remove the Jack Dempsey - cornered and battered by the Midas. We will see if the Midas turns his attention to the gar or not.

Same as some others have said. I have mine with two large Oscars. They don't pay any attention to each other.

I moved the Midas this morning. He was biting the gar. The gar is now alone in his tank again.

I have a alligator, a florida, and longnose gars with my two cichlids and they get along decently. I originally put the cichlids in there to cycle my tank and I kind of just never got to taking them out (ive tried but they are a pain to catch). The cichlids know their boundaries and how to keep their distance as they see what destruction the gars do to goldfish that are relatively similiar to their size. I actually had the two cichlids breed a few times while in the same tank as the gars which might signify that they have some sort of an alliance? For a lack of better words. Haha well goodluck, you should be okay
