gar with smaller aro?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i agree. if it's even a true gar, at those sizes, it's prob not good. my last silver did grow 1" per week starting at 5" until I sold it at 10, though.

I couldn't keep my Silver in my Gar community until it was 18"...the gars would not leave it alone. It seems that things have finally fallen into place, but it was a long process of "trial and error". Always have a backup tank ready to separate them.

We still need sizes of these fish and can we get a pic of this "yellow gar"? I'm curious...

I current have a 11" green aro and a 12" spotted ... its been 2 days since i introduced them both at the same time into a 4x2x2 grow out tank .. both have been in individual tanks since young and have been going at each other quite regularly but wif a cautious respect. ATM there only seems to be a few ripped fins .. its dependent on the personality and i just happen to have 2 fishes i love wif anger management issues, in the past i have had the same combo's without a hitch.. luck of the draw with your fish but u gotta love them all the same.

its only worked for me IF the aro was bigger than the gar by at least a few inches.

what the hecks a yellow gar???
pics?

well true gar are usually bad with silver fish ingeneral for they think its prey item(shad, shiner, and etc...) so i would say no go.

I guess then I shouldn't put my tinfoil barb in with my pair of gars when they get bigger. Thanks!
