Garage as Fishroom, Heating Issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Insulate the tanks themselves for now. YOu can use foam board on the sides and back for this. And once you get the garage insulated add another big tank or two and run a big dehumidifier in the garage. The dehue will not only keep the garage from getting moldy but it will also help heat the garage.

Insulate whole place. If you are runing multiple aquarium's more eco way is to heat whole place. + dehumidifier is great thing to have, because alot of water in one room.
good luck.

Thanks, overall insulation is the plan, I intend to get it done in the first month or so, just need to keep them up to temp while waiting.

I cheap and easy trick is to line the garage with a layer or two of plastic sheeting, thus creating an air barrier from the fish room to the outside walls. This will help insulate a bit more, although, you will still need more heat/heaters.
