Yeah, seen them when snorkling off Catalina Island. Mean as hell and if you're caught so much as harassing them you'll get the huge fine. I especially like the juvenilles, they have blue spots.

ya also went swiming of the catalina islands real nice fish i saw alot of them but i was more interested in the urchins and big crabs and some other fish/inverts that would be able to hurt u lol all good i like the fish

These are very nice, Illegal ,but can be seen in many lfs in CA. Salute the state fish! lol
