thanks garniac,

just came back from lfs. brought back a lap instead. put him in my 2feet tank and saw how skinny he was. hope he gets adjusted soon. still thinking of a juvenile gar though. sigh.

hows the lap?its nice that you found it in Singapore, how much did you pay for it?

it would be ok. But I suggest you don't put the lap in a 2 foot tank even if in is temporary.

why not? depending on the size of the lap, most would be fine in a 2' tank if only temporarily, definitely not for the long term. if the individual is small it could be grown out a bit in a 2' long tank with no major problems as long as filtration and bioload were reasonable--

all 4 of my gar get along with the 11 poly they're in with. hell they all lay in piles sometimes :grinno:

Poly are some of the best tankmates for gars.

well yea there not disturbing or annoying tankmates :ROFL:

garniac,
lap munching on monster and sinking pellets so i guess that shows good signs. Roughly about 10cm long. I got it at $18 dollars so I think it's around 12USD? Think will be going to lfs again to consider a spotted gar this time

np MFK FTW =D we own lol

Eventually...I got my juv spotted gar and a butterfly fish!! but not less than 1/2hr my endli took a bite on it. My god! I used my tweezers to get it to release the gar. sigh...new fish is so gonna scarred
