I have the silver aro FL gar combo as well. Now that they are on pellets they aren't showing any aggression towards one another. I only had a problem with an 11" gar that was on live attacking a smaller 8" aro. Now all is well. I will also keep you posted.

ok cool. Just look at maddings thread about his gar that he has recently been posting. Will sum it up right there 
they were the aggressors, and feeding everyday isnt gonna help. When gar flip, they flip and they kill because they want to.

no prob. gar are..........odd. yeah thats the word. odd. lol. dont try to understand them because, well, they are odd. lol.
my other 2 florida gar(around 14" plus) are calm. no aggression at all. my shorty, is hyper but no aggression.

I tried it.. I now have 2 gar instead of a gar and an arrow... nuff said... They took turns beating the snot out of eachother. 2 similar shaped/colored fish, in the same water column. with different dominance postures... = someones gonna get hurt bad. the only time I see this combo work is in JDM style set-ups.
yep, works for some not for others. or it might work for about a few months or even a year then it goes bad.
u can never tell with gar. EVER. there is no real set rules for them, sometimes it works sometimes it dont. U will never know. THere really is no set rules for them. literally. even the old rule "best tank mates for gar is another gar" doesnt always work. usually but that goes out the windows for gator gar or hybrids.
Polys might work but u never know again. pretty sure i saw someone say thier gar ate their poly
