That Place With the Stuff
Hi guys, I was sort of given the option of taking a 11" clown knife or it would have ended up in the dumspter so of course I took it; anyways I have 2 most likley Florida Gars one 7" and one 8". Anyways all three fish get along great and are all feeding on rosey's, I am pretty positive that the clown knife is to big to be switched off of feeders and I have nowhere to house him (without him eating everything in my other tanks) while I try to put the gars on a hunger strike until they will eat shrimp... any suggestions? maybe a tank divider to seperate so the clown can eat while the gars go hungry enough till they will eat non feeders?

gars can go hungry for a month or even more depending on the personality of the gar. and i am sure you can get the clown knife off the feeders too. nothing is impossible

do a little search and you will find many threads on how to get your fishes off the feeder. you can get loads of help searching and reading as many posts as possible

I have read and know how to get gars off of feeders but I do not want to starve the clown knife while doing so... I was looking for another option other than maybe a divider because that is the only option I can see...

great point about when the lights are off cause the knife is more active at night but the gars are just as active when the lights are out also... so i guess divider it may be lol thanks for the help guys

^ Yeah that was my thought.

CK's are nocturnal, gars diurnal. Feed the CK at night. Not when the tank lights are off, because room lights will be enough for the gars to hunt by...feed in the pitch dark, with all lights off.
