^ Yeah that was my thought.

CK's are nocturnal, gars diurnal. Feed the CK at night. Not when the tank lights are off, because room lights will be enough for the gars to hunt by...feed in the pitch dark, with all lights off.

IME once the knives learn its food, theyll eat whatever whenever.
so the night rule doenst apply anymore.

exactly, to the post you were quoting, gars are actually crepuscular and more nocturnal than diurnal...but none of that matters in captivity as the fish will be trained to feed when they are usually fed. doesn't mean they won't eat at night if a meal is swimming around.--

ahhh, one of the simple joys of keeping gar, being able to call tankmates "meals"

...now about my pm...:D jk no rushing

Thanks alot guys I appreciate the advice, I just did not think I could get the CK off of feeders at this size, sounds like a plan lol thx again

i am for one impressed with how big a knife can open its mouth and what they can eat

i got 30 free mollies and boy can my knife fish eat them

good luck on gettin them off feeders

go post in the knife forum regarding knife qns:cool: as far as i'm concerned knives are bad tankmates for smaller gars.
