How many days can baby gars(6") live without food? Actually i am trying 2 feed them pellets but they don't eat them for 4 days.

ime they should be fine for (safely) up to a few weeks. but try to keep it to a maximum of 2 weeks. listen to poly, jordon or e_americanus if they give different advise as they have more experience

juvenile meaning below 8 inches?

I'd say under 10" is still a juvenile....to be safe. As richard said...a gar (or any juvie fish) should not go more than a few short days without being fed. They should really be fed multiple times per day. Get the fish fattened up and growing, then try getting it onto pellets or other prepared foods.

At 6" I wouldn't go more than a week.
At 6" is would be very unwise to not feed them for a week. Young of the year gar are fast growing fish with strong metabolisms. If you are lax on feeding them they will become stunted and they will develop problems. As a general rule until a gar goes through at least one year of growth they should never be allowed to starve...

Well as per all of your advices i gave up..........and feed them what they like......feeders........may be try again later when they grow up......anyways, thanks 4 the advice.......

i had little 2" gars (3 of them) that werent fed for about a four day period.(this is how i learned this) and they wound up dead. so i would advise like said before no more than a week to 2 weeks.

That wasn't smart...why weren't they fed? Gar that small should definitely be left for the more experienced. They have very specific dietary needs and can be fairly difficult to keep in general.
