Foods listed in descending order of quantity and frequency:

Pellets
Krill
Shrimp
Tilapia
Silversides
Earthworms
Feeder comets (occasionally)

Is no one going to point out the fact that this tank is simply too small? Pretty soon you'll need to upgrade to something wider. The issue isn't the stocking density, it's that gars are relatively inflexible-- this is an 18" wide tank right?

Also, I see you're keeping a motoro ray in another 125g. Again, waaaaay too small.

The spotted is about 10.5-11" long. The shortnose gars are probably between 11" and 15" long. I haven't physically measured any of them, but the largest net I have is 10" wide, and both the spotted and the shortest shortnose gar had to bend to fit through the opening of the net...

my gar is very easy to measure, for he sleeps against the glass.

No **** sherlock. If you'd read some of my other posts, you'd notice I stated the tank won't work for life, and I plan on updating. I also have a 3,500 gallon (15'x7'x4') pond outside for the gars to go into this spring. The motoro stingray is only about 6.5-7 inches right now, so it will be at least a year to a year and a half before I need to upgrade. Next time try to read what I actually said before you try to lecture me.
