ive been looking at gars for years and have never committed to buying one for my tank what species would be good for a 150 gallon with a black arowana?

That’s a small tank. I would go with one of the smaller gar like a Florida

Florida Gar is definitely the best choice... Short nose is costly and would work, but longnose is rare and grows to big for a 150. Make sure you house your black arowana properly when it outgrows your 150.

Good call, my Black is almost three feet now in a 450. That 500 will be nice
