What are the common causes of alligator, florida gars death?

Both are extremely hardy imo but I lost a Florida Gar it jumped out on too a concrete floor.

Jumping and broken back which leads to problems feeding.

Fish in general - bad water quality.

I also was told that feeding them boiled chicken will kill them due to the fat content in chicken. Gars are not able to process the fat fast enough. GarsGentleGiants
