DOES ANY ONE KEEP THE LARGE GARS THAT GET SEVERAL FEET.NO ONE TALKS ABOUT KEEPING THEM YOU ONLY HERE ABOUT THE SPOTTED GARS.I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE ONE ABOUT 9-12 INCHES.

I've seen them around, but is always "scared" to buy them because of the size they get, just about the same as the Pirarucu. I would buy more of those striped bass from Rarefish though. Damn I just can't stop getting amazed by those things. They are so under rated.

Striped bass are suppose to be salt water fish.I have caugth many while fishing in the Delaware bay area though about raising some since they live in fresh water for a while until they reach a certain size then they return to the ocean.Raised many large mouth have a large quarter of a mile pond behind my house awesome fish eating machine.

I'm jealous about these multi-acre ponds! Wonder if any tropical fish could live in them, i.e. gars, peacock bass, etc...?

lets get back to gars i also would like to keep one but i would need a small kind bacause of going into a 70 gallon tank but i dont think there is a gar out there for me

^ Gars dont grow extremely fast...
The best bet, on the way to get one is to wait until someone is offering them :)

Hmmm. I once saw 4inch alligator gars, that grew to 14inches after a year.
