thanks phil (et al), that pic was actually a "super macro" shot made with a standard point-and-shoot camera. i am hoping to get better ones of the larvae/fry/juveniles at their present state in the near future. they have very well-developed snouts at this state and truly look like mini-gars. the biggest ones are just over 1" long at this point. hopefully pics up by tomorrow!--

What are they eating?
 
larger individuals are right around 1.5"-2" now, average size is right around 1.25". most gars converted to piscivory in the past two days, which will mean steeper exponential growth from this point onward--

That looks awesome!

Im thinking of picking one up, just wondering if spotted gars are aggressive? Will they attack smaller fish?
