GATF and ATF difference?

Is there a difference between the two?

And also what is the minimum tank size for these guys? Could one either one of the two(if they are different) go into a 180g with 1-2 florida gars and 2-3 NTTs?

That is not a GATF, it is a VATF.

Do a search on the forum and youll find a lot of Questions just like your.

GATF is the Big Daddy and is all silver
VATF is 2nd to biggest and is 2toned... green/silver with square like scales

Very easily notisable on the diff when you see a pic of ea.

alright thanks and i like the way that one looks better than the all silver look so what is other differences with these guys? if i were to get a VATF what is the minimum tank size for them? and what can i mix in in a tank with them?

alright redid my thinking on this one, still want to get a VATF in a 180 but would a jurense catfish or how ever you spell it be sutible tankmates? and also what else could i possibly put in there? And $99, is that a good price for a VATF?

not sure about the price.
as long as the cat is around the same size it should be fine.
any non-aggressive tankmates that wont outgrow the VATF should be fine.
they grow pretty slow.

I would add that a 180 will not house a VATF for life. Minimus is probably a 360. Something along the lines of 8' - 3' - 3'.

agreed.
but they grow slow.
so it gives you some time to upgrade.
