GATF and ATF difference?

Mine has only grown a further 4" in 8 to 9 months. so about 6" a year. I reckon you could get away with 12" in a 180 assumming it is 24" wide, Although thay are midwater thay do tend to sit hovering rather than actively circling the tank. They do however move very quickly when they want to so you need to make the end of you tanks clearly visable.

alright redid my thinking on this one, still want to get a VATF in a 180 but would a jurense catfish or how ever you spell it be sutible tankmates? and also what else could i possibly put in there? And $99, is that a good price for a VATF?

Get the ATF first then a catfish. ATFs grow slow and are slim when young (easy access to a lunch) and most cats grow pretty quick. So in the end, you will probly have to relocate the Cat till the atf is around 1ft

Depending on your location, 99.00 can be high and low (aside from size)... know what I mean

Ya just buy the Frontosa at a bigger size... As they grow very very slow!

Slowest fish i have ever kept... I have a Breeding colony got the at 2-3 inches a year and a half go and there only 4-7 inches now the males do grow better tha females

Is there any other charcins that are native to Africa that can go in there because a 180g is about all i can afford, and i have not even seen more than a 265g tank sold locally

If thats as big as your ganna get, then I Highly Dont reccomend ATF (its not for you). You can try to get the smallest ATF...... Forskolii/Brevis they max out around 12" or something like that
