Gatf can't get to eat 5 inch

My fish always follow my GATF around. I figure it's because he's the unchallenged dominant fish.

He's dominant enough that the other fish won't touch food if the GATF is nearby.
 
Mine took about a week to stop being spastic. How strong is your current? Mine never truly settled down though until I added a very strong current in the tank (4000 gph. Yes, 4-0-0-0). In my experience, it's normal for the fish to want to swim into the current without doing much beside eating and beating up his tankmates. Good dithers will either help him calm down or get eaten. Either way, they help him lol.

How long have you had him? How active is the room in which he is housed? We need more details homey! Water perims, lighting, feeding, length of ownership, activity in the room, ect. Tell us anything, and I do mean anything, that may be relevant to the tank or the room in which it's stored. There's too many factors to just give a flat answer such as 'they stop the atf spaz after 96 hours'... lol
 
ive had him for a week yesterday the room hes in isnt active not alot of people go in there the tank is in my room
lightin: 2 t8 6500k lights
water: ph 7.4-7.6 amon 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 0 hes across from a window
 
Needs a lot of current, I have nearly 4000gph of current in my 300 wide. My 4 ATF used to be jumpy in the 180g I had but since upgrading they are incredibly calm. They require a large footprint with adequate current and food supply. They don't like many tank mates as it causes their skiddish nature until they get larger. A few dithers and cleaners is fine.

As for tankmates/dithers I have some polypterus, red bay snooks, azul chicla, payara and a yellow tail barracuda. Mind you I have a pack of ATF so combinations are a larger variety.

with a huge tank^^^ the personality of the fish varies so you got to watch out.
 
I put in two tin foil barbs yesterday and turned the temp up to 84 degrees the gatf is 100% different now he's swimming around and playing with the feeders not spazzing out and he's eating in front of me with the lights on looking at him watching him eat makes me sooo happy and it's crazy to watch him stalk his prey and attack and when he opens his mouth all the open its insane how big he can open it I'm soooo happy !!!!!!!!! He's insane soo happy he's happy
