Gatf of feeders??

When my armatus wouldn't eat when I first got him, I tied fishing line to a piece of talapia and tossed it in the tank. The current + me moving it around to mimic a wounded or dyeing fish. He had interest right away, and ate after a week.

I used that exact same method to break my stubborn old scomb. Within a month of his eating strips of trout, he was taking pellets off of the top.

I did this by jigging the trout strip like you said, then got him to eat them it without jigging the trout. I then moved the trout farther and farther up in the water column until it was on the surface. Once he started hitting trout on the surface, I just stopped putting trout in for him and he would grab pellets off of the top. It was fairly easy once I tried this method! :)

Now the only fish in my main tank I have to give anything other than pellets to is my juruense catfish.

i havent seen the gatf eat yet i tried krill and frozensilversides and he hasent gone after anything i tried getting some fishing line and put it in the flow and see if he would go after it but he hasent everything i put in there the tinfoils eat and now the baby hydro gar loves krill but the gatf is still stubborn as hell is there something else that i should try or should i just keep trying or should i get some feeders put them in there and try again or what? what do you guys think??

Stay the course my friend. Breaking him will be very difficult but it can be done. :-)

He'll need at least another week of being starved before he gets desperate enough to consider dead food.

Yes. Mine did almost three weeks without eating at five inches long before he would take dead.
