Gatf shoal update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice and I'm loving that VATF!!

I don't think they have settled in just yet. 1 month is not long enough to say much. Some show aggression sooner than others but I would say it's going in the right direction. Once 6 months hits, you can say it is working a whole lot more confidently. JMO.

All those air bubbles doesn't annoy you? I had a set up similar w/the air and it bugged the crap out of me haha. I like tiny micro bubbles. I added a air line w/not much air pumping out and placed the air stone where the powerhead sucks up the water (behind the impeller). Every air bubble that gets pushed out, gets sliced up. To each their own, just thought I would share what I do to balance the fish need and the eye need Lol.

G/L, hope it works for you :)

Thanks man! Yellow tail vatf for the win haha, well like I said I'm currently on the 7th month of them been together and so far so good. Trying for that 1 year mark without trouble then I can put them in the future 600g

As far as the air bubbles I've set them down to low so that there's less vision loss and it seems to be working better aerating the whole tank with little bubbles now so I'll post more pics in a bit, thanks for the feedback man! :D

Yeah the bubbles was killing me! Now, standing in front I can see some but not much at all.... side view, I can see them a little better. I like it this way :headbang2

Is the VATF the one in the OP, last set, left side? I put an arrow on the pic but for whatever reason, I can't upload it.....

Kelly- last picture is as followed... 2 Goliaths on left and 1 VATF on the right (top left of Indo Datnoid).

2nd to last pic is easier.... Left is Goliath, middle is Tat aka Red Tail Payara and on top of him is VATF (exact species as my avatar, not the red tail ATF) then looks to be another Goliath on the far right.

Correct 2 gatf and 1 vatf, also tat is a rare yellow tail tat, same as yellow tail vatf :)

Oh. Thank you so much!

Question, Payarakeeper, what did you mean when you said

also tat is a rare yellow tail tat, same as yellow tail vatf

Did you mean that they are the same fish, just have different names? I got confused there....

(sorry, newblet question...)

No problem, They are different fish, an i ment they are rare forms of them, such as red tail payara and yellow tail payara are the same fish just a rare variation in the coloring of the fins being yellow
