Gatf that wont eat

Well its good that he started eating again.

As to why he didn't eat, who knows. When mine was smaller he'd stop eating all the time for any reason. If the water was too warm or cold, if the water wasn't flawless, if there wasn't enough current, if I added salt (he eventually got used to it, I add a little every water change), if the lights were on too long, if I farted in the next room, if the planets weren't aligned right or anything he'd stop eating. It was VERY frustrating.

Once I got him on pellets and onto a routine he started eating very well. I'll give him snacks whenever I think about it throughout the day and a really big meal every day at about 8pm. If I don't feed him he'll start spazzing and begging at the part of the tank where I put food. Stay they course man, you'll get him eating good in no time.

Yeah idk but he turned this red color it's weird look at this on your computer maybe it's just my eyes but look at the color difference from when he has his hunger strike to how he looks now

Better colors means he's happier. The blanched coloration is a sign that he was stressed.

When I came home after being away from my tank for two weeks, I found that a breaker had tripped and my heater and some other stuff wasn't running. The tank was 68* and Max was the same color as your guy in the hunger strike picture. I flipped the breaker and in a couple of hours the temp was back up and his colors were back.

You have your fish over a white sand substrate which will make his colors lighter also, but I believe with every fiber of my being that your fish looked the way he did because he was quite stressed.

oh yeah see mine stayed like that for about two weeks i was freaking out didnt know what it was and it was getting worse i know after a while they start to get red but only on there tail he was getting it all over his body but now its gone and hes eating and now he's getting fat again and so now i need to get him off of live again and onto shrimp and other non live foods ahhhhh this sucks

yes ive noticed that i didnt thing it was a bad thing i mean he swims fine and when he wants to swim laps he can do it FAST but do you think there are any he alt issues with that like later on or anything??

Get him good and fat before you try to get him off live again.

As long as you have a lot of current and pristine water, these fish are actually extremely hardy and easy to care for.

i have to get more current in my tank and my water is always good im trying to build a automatic water changer right now i did it on small scale i just have to get a bigger sump and then im going t put it in my tank so it will be even more cleaner and better for him but he heals up fast haha he gone thur kinda alot of stuff getting attacked by a jardini and close to death i got rid of the jar and got the tiger a bigger tank got him some nice friends and then he got all red and stuff and lost all of his fins now hes back up to par and im trying to get him fat so he will be better and better hes not the best looking gatf but he's still legit to me haha i want to get more
