Gator becoming a serial killer?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
haha.. I can beat you on that one easily. I've kept koi with gator gars for 2 months now and there is no even a scratch on any one of the koi. See it for yourself. Who says gator gars cannot be good community fish?

Haha Awesome!

seems like the koi are separated from the gars and are all huddled into the spot that's fenced off from them

I agree, get rid of the other fish. You bought the gator knowing how big he was going to get (hopefully) so now it's your responsibility to house it properly. Unless you can find a better home (like an aquarium) for it, you should be stuck with it. You can't just give it to someone that doesn't have a good home or back to the LFS where he will be crammed into a 150gal for life, like the one at my LFS. You wanted a monster, now you have one, so deal with it. Obviously an impulse by that is going to be unfair to the poor fish.

ummm bro sure u made a wrong decision but selling ur arowanas off to a lfs or a person that cant offer a home is equally worse!
its only a matter of time before deaths occur, ignore the people who are telling you to sell the others.. just try and find the gator a good home and from you MFK FS thread i know you are

I am all for finding the gar a good home. But if the OP can't find a good home then I think he should take responsibility for the gar that he knew would outgrow his home tank. Selling the arowana to the LFS is not equally worse because arowanas are a LOT easier to house that a gator gar. (they still need a huge tank, yeah, but not as huge as a gator) Be accountable for your own mistakes is all i'm trying to get across.

super, go sit and stare at ur death tanks(JDM sry, my mistake). DO u even like gar?? Pretty sure u dont. I dont go into cichla forums and say get rid of ur cichla they are ugly, do i? No.

OP, u got the gar knowing it was a monster. U also put the gar with bad tankmates. So now we reach the point were that it is comming out how bad of a choise u made putting them together. Sell the others.

never ever ever ever ever ever ever release a fish that has been in a tank back into the wild. ever.

I hope you were joking but I doubt it.

I had a Brain Fart and forgot. Maybe he could give it to a Zoo or sell it to someone with a HUGE Aquarium.
